Centred on Scarborough's diversity and character, this documentary series is presented
through the perspective of someone who grew up there. For a long time, Scarborough has been
associated with crime and being "ghetto". I'd like to counter this perception of Scarborough by
showcasing its genuine colours and cultural diversity. You will view various locations across the
city as well as portraits of individuals who live in Scarborough. The aim is to depict a very
genuine, raw, aspect of the city, using a combination of warm and cold tones as well as airy/harsh
lighting to avoid aestheticizing the environment. It would be great to dispel the ideas and false narratives that have been
imposed on the city, as well as to portray the city through my eyes.
